Commitment to Sustainability

From its inception, Northern Wave has been an advocate of sustainable fishing practices. We strongly believe that our contribution to this process helps sustain the environment and preserve its marine living resources for future generations.

Northern Wave is a partner of companies that supply raw materials from sustainable fisheries and ensure that there is limited environmental impact on fisheries. We whole-heartedly support the implementation of Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs) that aim to achieve successful establishment of ecologically sustainable fisheries.

We choose to market processed seafood, which we obtain from vendor companies that are members of the Longline Fishery Association (LFA). In cooperation with Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP), LFA put a lot of work in implementing the FIPs organically helping the longline fisheries for Pacific Cod and Pacific Halibut to be certified by the Marine Stewardship Council as ecologically sustainable. In its FIP work, LFA also works in cooperation with WWF RU which is an official stakeholder of the project.
